Scouting
opportunities are available for girls in the TASD from
Kindergarten to 12th grade. Troops are located in
Titusville, Pleasantville, Cherrytree and Hydetown. Adult
volunteers are welcome to assist in a variety of ways:
troop leader/assistant or co-leader, treasurer, product
sales, event planning, chaperone, resource staff (canoeing,
archery, kayaking, orienteering, geocaching, arts & crafts,
etc.) and camp planning/facilitating, just to name a few.
Training and skill certification are available free of
charge.
Titusville Area Girl Scouts offers a progressive program
with a focus on providing opportunities for girls and adults
to learn new skills, try new experiences, develop confidence
and leadership skills, learn teamwork and make friends from
a variety of cultural and social backgrounds. TAGS programs
place a strong emphasis on educational experiences to
augment schoolwork and service to community and country.
Tolerance is taught through cultural opportunities to learn
about and appreciate each other and all ethnic and religious
backgrounds. TAGS take an active role in the community and
partners with many different organizations to teach the
scouts life skills thru service learning. Friendship and
fun are a primary focus in all TAGS activities and expenses
are minimized through fundraising opportunities such as GS
cookie sales.
